This page explains, in plain English, what the EnglandSumo website does with your data, and how we approach accessibility. Last updated: 2026-09-22.

Accessibility statement

EnglandSumo aims to make this site usable by as many people as possible. We build for readable content, a logical heading structure, keyboard-accessible navigation, and — where practical — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA. Images that convey meaning carry descriptive alt text, and we use semantic HTML so screen readers and assistive technology can navigate the site.

Some YouTube previews and Smoothcomp embeds load from external providers, so their accessibility is largely determined by those platforms. If you have trouble using any part of this site, or want content in another format, email info@englandsumo.com and we will do our best to help.

What this website collects

englandsumo.com is a static website. We do not run any analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, and no first-party cookies. We do not ask you to log in, and we do not have a contact form that stores submissions on this site.

Standard server logs may be kept by our static hosting provider for a short period for security and abuse prevention (typical entries: IP address, request time, requested URL, user-agent). These are not used for tracking or marketing.

Third-party services

The site links to or embeds the following third parties:

• YouTube (Google): the EnglandSumo Nationals video on the homepage uses a click-to-load placeholder. No YouTube cookies or scripts are loaded until you actively press the play button. Once you do, YouTube sets its own cookies and may log that view under its own privacy policy.
• Smoothcomp: results, registrations, and federation membership are run on Smoothcomp under its own privacy policy. Following a link to a Smoothcomp page (e.g. a results bracket or the membership page) takes you to a separate site.
• Social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube channel, WhatsApp): the "Follow us" links are plain outbound links. We do not run social pixels or share buttons that load before you click.

Cookies

EnglandSumo does not set any cookies of its own. Cookies are only set by third-party services if you choose to interact with them — for example, by playing the embedded YouTube video, by visiting Smoothcomp, or by following a social link.
